Ontario Provincial Police are investigating a suspected hit-and-run after a 64-year-old North York man was found injured on the shoulder of Highway 12 in Midland on Sunday night.
A concerned citizen called police at 9:26 p.m. after spotting the man between Brebeuf Road and Highway 93. His injuries appeared consistent with being struck by a vehicle. He was treated by paramedics and transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The affected section of Highway 12 was closed for investigation until approximately 11:30 p.m.
Police believe the incident occurred between 9:00 and 9:26 p.m. and suspect a 2015–2017 Hyundai Sonata may have been involved. Authorities are asking witnesses or anyone with dashcam or surveillance footage to contact the OPP at 1-888-310-1122 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
