A father and his 11-year-old son have died after their motorcycle was struck by a car in Scarborough on Thursday evening. The collision occurred just after 6:20 p.m. at the intersection of Kingston and Manse Roads, east of Morningside Avenue.

Toronto police and paramedics responded to the scene, where they found that a silver Nissan, traveling north on Manse Road, had attempted to turn left onto Kingston Road when it collided with a southbound red Honda motorcycle.

The 47-year-old man and his son, both on the motorcycle, suffered life-threatening injuries. The father was pronounced dead at the scene, while the boy was rushed to a trauma centre but passed away shortly after.

The 68-year-old driver of the Nissan remained at the scene and is cooperating with the investigation.

Police are still determining the cause of the crash, and while they are examining speed as a possible factor, they are reviewing all available evidence, including video footage and witness statements. The incident remains under investigation.
