A truck rollover on northbound Highway 427 near Toronto Pearson Airport in Mississauga caused significant traffic delays Monday afternoon.
The single-vehicle crash occurred shortly before 2:30 p.m., just past Highway 409 and south of Rexdale Boulevard. The truck lost control, rolled over, and spilled its cargo of metal rods onto the shoulder and right lane. Fortunately, no injuries were reported.
Two northbound lanes remain closed as crews work to clear the debris, causing heavy backups on Highway 427 and Highway 409. Police advise motorists to avoid the area until at least the evening rush.
The cause of the crash is under investigation, with the driver suggesting he may have been cut off.
