A driver was arrested for impaired driving after a pedestrian was struck and killed by a vehicle on Bath Road in Kingston, Ont., on Wednesday evening.
At around 5:30 p.m., a vehicle traveling eastbound on Bath Road crossed the median, entered the westbound lanes, and then hit a pedestrian on the sidewalk. The pedestrian was seriously injured and later died in hospital.
The driver of the vehicle was arrested for impaired operation and taken into police custody.
Police are seeking the owner of a Tesla, who may have dashcam footage to assist with the investigation. The Tesla was stopped at a red light at Bath Road and Gardiners Road around 5:25 p.m., when a black Hyundai Elantra made an illegal maneuver and narrowly missed the Tesla.
