A 21-year-old woman from Mississauga is facing multiple charges after fleeing police and later crashing a black Ford Mustang in the Blue Mountains.

On Sunday around 7 p.m., OPP were conducting a radar enforcement initiative on Highway 26 near Wards Road when they clocked the Mustang speeding westbound. When officers attempted to stop the vehicle, the driver fled.

Later that evening, police responded to a single-vehicle crash involving the same Mustang. A passenger sustained minor injuries and was taken to hospital.

The driver is now charged with:

  • Flight from a peace officer
  • Dangerous operation of a vehicle
  • Driving without a licence
  • Speeding (1–49 km/h over the limit)

She is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Owen Sound on July 10.
