Four people were injured in a collision between a police vehicle and a London Transit Commission (LTC) bus in downtown London on Wednesday, prompting an investigation by Ontario’s Special Investigations Unit (SIU).
The crash occurred around 1:50 p.m. at the intersection of Talbot Street and Queens Avenue. According to London Police, the bus driver and three passengers were hurt. One passenger sustained serious but non-life-threatening injuries; all three were taken to hospital by ambulance. The police officer involved was not injured.
The incident caused significant traffic delays and led to the closure of Queens Avenue between Talbot and Ridout Streets for several hours, including during rush hour. The cause of the collision remains under investigation, and LTC officials have yet to comment.
