A fatal three-vehicle collision occurred early Tuesday morning on Sudbury’s Lasalle Extension, resulting in the death of a 44-year-old man and serious injuries to another driver.
The crash happened around 6:15 a.m. between Frood Road and Elm Street. According to Greater Sudbury Police, a blue Dodge Caravan heading westbound collided with a black Dodge Dart and a grey Ford F-150, both travelling eastbound. The driver of the Dodge Dart died at the scene, while the 43-year-old man driving the Caravan was taken to hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries. The F-150 driver was not injured.
The road remained closed for much of the day, reopening around 4 p.m. The crash occurred on a curved section of the two-lane roadway, which was fully blocked off by police. The closure caused traffic disruptions. No charges have been announced.
