One person was taken to hospital with second-degree burns following a structure fire on Moy Avenue in Windsor Monday afternoon.

Emergency crews responded around 3:30 p.m. to the 1600 block of Moy Avenue, where the fire had spread to nearby structures. The injured individual was treated for burns to one arm and has since been released from hospital.

Firefighters completed primary searches of two affected properties and successfully knocked down the blaze.

Downed hydro wires in the area caused power outages for approximately seven homes. Windsor Fire reported it could take up to eight hours to restore electricity.

The cause of the fire and a damage estimate have not yet been determined.
