A person is in hospital with serious, non-life-threatening injuries following a crash in Timmins on Tuesday morning, caused by an impaired driver.

The incident occurred around 6:07 a.m. after police received multiple reports of an erratic driver on Highway 101. The vehicle passed the McIntyre Community Centre and continued through South Porcupine before colliding with a lamp post and striking a pedestrian.

The pedestrian sustained serious injuries, and the driver was arrested at the scene after being found impaired. Charges are pending.
