One person has died and several others have been injured in a multi-vehicle crash south of Eganville, Ontario. The collision occurred shortly after noon on Highway 41, between McGrath Road and Spring Creek Road, involving four vehicles.

According to Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), five people were initially reported injured, and by 4 p.m., police confirmed that one of the victims had succumbed to their injuries. The others were transported to hospital with varying degrees of injury.

No details have been released regarding the victims at this time. A section of Highway 41, between Foymount Road and Grattan Road, is closed and is expected to remain shut for several more hours. OPP is urging the public to avoid the area to allow investigators to work without disruption, as there have been reports of people stopping to look at the scene.

Update – A 61-year-old driver faces multiple charges, which includes impaired driving (alcohol).
