A vehicle fire in the garage of a single-family home on Boisfranc Circle in Orléans sparked a significant emergency response Tuesday evening, according to Ottawa Fire Services. Multiple 9-1-1 calls came in just before 6 p.m., reporting flames inside the attached garage.

Upon arrival, firefighters encountered heavy smoke and visible flames. They quickly launched a coordinated response—one team tackled the garage fire directly, while another helped safely evacuate the home’s occupants. Thankfully, no injuries were reported.

To ensure the fire was fully extinguished and had not spread, crews pulled down sections of drywall and insulation. The burned vehicle was later winched from the garage, and high-powered fans were used to clear smoke from the home.

Ottawa Fire spokesperson Nick Defazio confirmed that the residents will not be displaced.
