A 46-year-old man from Kemptville, Ontario, has died following a head-on collision in North Stormont. The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to the crash, which occurred at around 4:20 p.m. Tuesday on County Road 43, between MacMillan Road and St. Luke’s Road in Finch.
The collision involved a tractor-trailer and a pick-up truck. Despite lifesaving efforts from bystanders and paramedics, the driver of the pick-up truck was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the tractor-trailer was uninjured.
OPP Technical Collision investigators and a reconstructionist have been called in to assist with the ongoing investigation. Authorities are asking anyone who may have witnessed the crash or has dashcam footage from the area to contact the Stormont, Dundas, and Glengarry OPP at 1-888-310-1122.
