An ongoing police investigation following a collision involving a pedestrian has closed a section of Gravenhurst Parkway in Gravenhurst Monday morning.

The Ontario Provincial Police reported that the incident occurred shortly after 7 a.m. between Heywood Road and Highway 118. The pedestrian, a 46-year-old local man, sustained life-threatening injuries and was initially taken to a local hospital before being airlifted to a trauma center in Toronto. No other injuries were reported.

The roadway, which had been closed for the investigation, has since reopened. Police are continuing their investigation and are urging the public to come forward with any information, including dash cam footage from the time of the incident.
