A South Simcoe police cruiser was involved in a collision in Bradford on Monday morning while officers were addressing a vehicle fire. The initial emergency call came in at approximately 11 a.m. regarding a car fire near Line 9 and County Road 27.
While responding to the scene, officers reported that their marked patrol car was struck by another vehicle.
Authorities have since launched separate investigations into both the fire and the crash. They confirmed that the fire was accidental and not linked to any criminal activity.
In connection with the collision, a 64-year-old man from Newmarket has been charged with failing to yield to an emergency vehicle and making an unsafe turn. Thankfully, no one was injured in either the fire or the crash.
