A single-vehicle crash in Lakeshore on Monday night is under investigation by Ontario’s Special Investigations Unit (SIU), following a failed traffic stop by Essex OPP.
The incident began around 11 p.m. when police attempted to stop a vehicle that did not comply. Shortly afterward, the car crashed on Lakeshore Road 235. The driver was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Due to the circumstances and resulting injury, the SIU has taken over the case. As a result, Essex OPP are not providing further details while the independent investigation is underway.
