A pickup truck collided with a pole in Toronto’s Leslieville neighborhood around 6 p.m., causing the pole to fall and strike a man and a woman.
The woman suffered serious injuries and was transported to the hospital, while the man’s injuries were not life-threatening. One person inside the truck was also hospitalized with minor injuries.
The driver stayed at the scene. Eastern Avenue, between Rushbrooke and Leslie Street, has been shut down as police investigate the incident.
