A man sustained serious injuries in a two-car crash at an intersection in Ottawa’s rural south end Monday afternoon. Ottawa Fire Services responded to a T-bone collision at Parkway and 9th Line roads around 4 p.m. after police reported the incident.
When firefighters arrived, they found one occupant trapped inside a vehicle and used specialized tools to extricate him in about seven minutes. Ottawa Paramedic Service spokesperson Marc-Antoine Deschamps confirmed the man, an adult male, was treated for non-life-threatening injuries and transported to the hospital in serious but stable condition.
Firefighters also took measures to manage the scene, spreading absorbent on leaking fluids and disconnecting vehicle batteries before clearing the area.
