A serious collision involving a motorcycle and a pickup truck occurred Wednesday evening in Orillia, prompting an ongoing investigation by provincial police. Emergency crews responded to the crash around 6 p.m. at the intersection of Highway 12 and Memorial Avenue.

A 64-year-old man from Orillia, who was riding the motorcycle, sustained life-altering injuries and was airlifted to a Toronto-area hospital by Ornge air ambulance.

The roadway was closed for several hours to allow for investigation and cleanup but has since reopened. The OPP’s Technical Collision Investigators assisted at the scene.

Police are asking anyone with information or video footage related to the crash to contact Orillia OPP.
