A serious collision occurred Thursday evening in Whitby, leaving an e-bike rider with significant injuries. Durham Regional Police report that the rider was heading east on Dundas Street around 8:30 p.m. when a Toyota Sienna, traveling west, struck the e-bike while turning left.
The rider was taken to a Toronto trauma center with non-life-threatening injuries. The roadway was closed for evidence collection, and the minivan driver was charged with making an unsafe turn. Authorities are asking anyone with information to contact Constable Schoch at (905) 579-1520.
