A fatal two-vehicle collision on Highway 401 eastbound near Dixon Road early Sunday morning has left a 29-year-old man dead. The crash occurred around 3:53 a.m., and police say the driver of one of the vehicles was ejected and died while being transported to hospital.
The second driver, also 29, sustained minor injuries and was taken to hospital for treatment.
As a result of the crash, the eastbound express lanes of Highway 401 were closed at Eglinton Avenue, with no access from northbound Highway 427. Authorities expect the lanes to reopen by noon as the investigation and cleanup continue.
