A 54-year-old man died in a house fire in West Elgin late Friday night. Emergency responders were called to a fully engulfed single-family home on Pioneer Line in Rodney around 10:55 p.m. The man was pronounced dead at the scene after the home was destroyed.
The Ontario Provincial Police, along with the Forensic Identification Service, the Office of the Chief Coroner, and the Ontario Fire Marshal, are continuing the investigation.
Pioneer Line remained closed for about 18 hours during the probe, reopening shortly after 6 a.m. Sunday.
