A 12-year-old child was injured in a farming-related incident on Monday in the Municipality of West Perth after being struck by a piece of farm equipment. Emergency responders transported the child to a local trauma centre with non-life-threatening injuries. The child is expected to be discharged by Tuesday.
Following the incident, Perth County OPP is urging the public to exercise caution when operating machinery around children and remain alert at all times. They also recommend keeping essential safety items nearby, including a first aid kit, tourniquet, emergency blanket, flashlight, cell phone, and appropriate personal protective equipment like eye protection, safety boots, and hearing protection.
