A fire in the 3200 block of Sandwich Street in Windsor on Tuesday led to one person being taken to hospital for smoke inhalation, according to local fire officials. Windsor Fire and Rescue Services responded with a fire engine, a rescue vehicle, and another truck.
The fire was brought under control by around 6 p.m. Crews completed a primary search of the affected unit and ventilated smoke from the building. Damage from the incident is estimated at under $50,000, according to Chief Fire Prevention Officer John Smith.
Update – According to Windsor Fire, the blaze was caused by improper discarding of smoking materials.
