A major fire destroyed a large home in Clearview Township late Wednesday morning, forcing several residents and their pets to evacuate. The blaze broke out on Concession 6 near County Road 91 and 27-28 Sideroad just before noon, prompting a full response from all township fire stations.
Firefighters remained on scene into Thursday as efforts continued. Seven people have been displaced, and the home has been declared a total loss. The exact value of the damage has not yet been determined.
The Ontario Fire Marshal’s office is investigating the incident, though the cause is not believed to be suspicious.
