A 27-year-old novice driver from Fergus was arrested by Wellington County OPP following a single-vehicle crash on Thursday. Police responded to reports of a vehicle in a ditch around 8 a.m. and found the driver a short distance away on foot.
The driver faces multiple charges, including operating a vehicle while impaired by alcohol and drugs, exceeding the legal blood alcohol concentration, and violating novice driver rules by having a BAC above zero. His license has been suspended for 90 days, and his vehicle was impounded for seven days. He is scheduled to appear in court later this month.
