A 41-year-old individual has been charged following a late-night crash into a home in Barrie. The incident occurred shortly after 11 p.m. on Friday near Mulcaster and Penetang Streets.
According to officials, the driver crashed a truck into the residence, causing significant damage. No injuries were reported, but the truck was destroyed in the collision. The affected area has since been secured with fencing by the City of Barrie, and a structural engineer is expected to assess the damage on Monday.
The driver was arrested at the scene and now faces multiple charges, including impaired driving, driving over the legal alcohol limit, dangerous operation of a vehicle, and assault.
