A transport truck fire shut down the westbound lanes of Highway 401 near Gananoque on Saturday afternoon. The blaze broke out just before 1 p.m., engulfing the trailer in flames. The truck was safely disconnected and moved a short distance away.
Ontario Provincial Police closed the westbound lanes between Reynolds Road and Stone Street North as emergency crews responded. As of 4 p.m., the highway remained closed while cleanup efforts continued. No injuries were reported, but drivers were advised to expect delays and use alternate routes.
