A 33-year-old man from Markham is facing several charges, including attempted murder, after allegedly hitting two people with his car in a North York parking lot on Wednesday night. Toronto police were called to the area of Don Mills Road and Gateway Boulevard around 10:20 p.m. following reports of a collision.
According to investigators, the incident began with an argument between two men. One of them got into a vehicle and allegedly struck the other. While reversing, the driver reportedly hit a second person.
A 50-year-old man sustained serious injuries and was taken to hospital, while a 28-year-old man suffered minor injuries and was treated at the scene. It’s currently unclear whether the suspect and the victims knew each other.
The suspect was arrested at the scene and charged with attempted murder, two counts of assault with a weapon, mischief over $5,000, dangerous driving, dangerous driving causing bodily harm, and uttering threats.
