On Monday afternoon, emergency responders were called to a fire at a residence that is under construction in Markham, located on Hughson Drive near Highway 7 E and Woodbine Avenue.
Fire crews arrived around 5:15 p.m. and quickly put out the flames. While nearby homes were evacuated and sustained some minor damage, there were no injuries reported. York Regional Police are continuing to investigate the incident, though further details have not been provided.
