A man was seriously injured in an e-bike crash on Syrette Lake Road South, located within Garden River First Nation, on the evening of Monday.
The Anishinabek Police Service responded to the scene shortly before 8 p.m. Upon arrival, officers found the man with significant injuries, though they were not life-threatening. He was promptly transported to the hospital by EMS for further care.
Authorities noted that the e-bike was being ridden on the road in violation of the Highway Traffic Act, and as a result, charges are anticipated. While police do not believe other vehicles were involved in the incident, they are asking anyone who witnessed the crash or has dashcam footage to come forward.
