An early morning fire in Barrie on Friday displaced several residents from an apartment building near downtown. The fire, which broke out around 6 a.m. at 96 Ross Street, started in the electrical room, causing significant damage to the building.
Barrie’s Fire Chief, Eric MacFadden, confirmed that utilities were shut off until repairs can be made. Affected residents are being provided with temporary accommodations.
Crews continued to assist with cleanup and investigate the cause of the fire throughout the afternoon. No injuries were reported.
