A fatal crash occurred in Huron County early Saturday morning, resulting in one death and one serious injury. Authorities responded around 5:30 a.m. to a collision between a minivan and a tractor-trailer at the intersection of Highway 4/Richmond Street and Huron Park Road/Whalen Line.
A 36-year-old man from Ayr was pronounced dead at the scene, while a 31-year-old man from Goderich was airlifted to a trauma center with life-threatening injuries. The truck driver was unharmed.
The investigation is ongoing, with no charges filed as of yet. Highway 4, south of Exeter, was closed for several hours between Crediton Road and Mount Carmel Drive, reopening later in the afternoon.
