Barrie Fire crews spent the weekend probing a suspicious fire that damaged a home on Blake Street late Friday afternoon. The blaze broke out just after 4 p.m., and six fire units arrived by 4:20 p.m. to battle the flames.
All of the residents managed to escape without injury. While the fire is confirmed to have started within the home, the cause remains undetermined, and authorities are treating it as suspicious.
The house sustained significant damage and is currently uninhabitable, though no financial estimate of the loss has been provided. Barrie Police have secured the area as the investigation continues.
