A person was injured Tuesday morning when part of a foundation collapsed at a rural home under renovation in Clearview Township.

Emergency crews responded shortly after 8:25 a.m. to the area of County Road 42 and 3/4 Sideroad. According to the Clearview Fire Department, a section of the foundation gave way, trapping one individual.

Firefighters successfully extricated the victim, who was then taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Ontario Provincial Police secured the scene following the rescue, and the incident remains under investigation, according to Fire Chief Scott Davison.
