A 22-year-old Barrie man was seriously injured and taken to hospital following a single-vehicle crash Thursday night in Tiny Township. The incident occurred around 9:30 p.m. on the southbound side of Highway 93 near Preston Road, when the vehicle veered off the road into a ditch.
Following an investigation by the Southern Georgian Bay OPP, the driver was charged with impaired driving related to alcohol and operating a vehicle without insurance. As a result, his licence was suspended for 90 days, and the vehicle was impounded for a week.
He has been released and is expected to appear in court in October.
