A house fire broke out Monday afternoon in Toronto’s west end, prompting a two-alarm response but resulting in no reported injuries. The blaze started just before 1 p.m. at a three-storey detached home located at 1177 Bathurst Street, near Bridgman Avenue, north of Dupont Street.

Toronto Fire crews arrived to find smoke coming from the home and quickly launched an interior attack. Aerial operations were also deployed as intense flames in the attic required firefighters to ventilate the roof. The main fire has since been extinguished, and most of the smoke has been cleared.

Firefighters remain at the scene to conduct secondary searches, check for hot spots, and complete overhaul procedures. It is still unknown whether anyone was inside the home at the time of the fire. Traffic in the area is affected, and drivers are advised to avoid the scene.
