Two women from Val-des-Monts, Quebec, have died following a crash involving a car and a pickup truck Tuesday afternoon on Highway 17 in Renfrew.
The collision occurred around 12:45 p.m., prompting a temporary closure of the highway between Chenaux Road and Bruce Street. The victims, aged 54 and 78, were the driver and passenger of the car and were pronounced dead after being taken to hospital.
The driver of the pickup truck was not injured. Ontario Provincial Police continue to investigate and are asking witnesses or anyone with video footage to come forward.
