A 35-year-old man is facing impaired driving charges following an early morning crash in Sault Ste. Marie. Police were called to the 100 block of Simpson Street around 1:50 a.m. Saturday, where they found a vehicle on its side and a man standing nearby. No injuries were reported.

After speaking with the man, officers suspected impairment, and subsequent breath tests confirmed blood alcohol levels over the legal limit.

Alvin Ventura has been charged with impaired operation (alcohol and/or drugs), impaired operation with a blood alcohol concentration over 80, and dangerous operation.

The charges have not been proven in court, and Ventura remains presumed innocent at this stage.
