Two men were injured Wednesday morning after a cherry picker caught fire in North York. The incident occurred just before 11 a.m. near Haynes Avenue and Assiniboine Road, close to York University.
Emergency crews responded to reports of the equipment on fire with two men trapped in the elevated bucket. One man in his 30s was taken to hospital with serious injuries, while the other, also in his 30s, sustained injuries that were not life-threatening.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
