A deadly two-vehicle collision in the Township of Amaranth on Friday evening is under investigation by Dufferin OPP. The crash occurred around 8:45 p.m. on County Road 10 near County Road 12, involving a westbound Honda SUV and an eastbound Toyota SUV.

The 61-year-old man driving the Honda, a resident of Grand Valley, was pronounced dead at the scene. The 36-year-old woman behind the wheel of the Toyota was airlifted to a Toronto hospital with serious injuries. Two children who were passengers in the Toyota were also taken to a local hospital; the extent of their injuries has not been confirmed.

The road was closed for several hours while the OPP’s Traffic Collision Investigation team conducted their work but has since reopened.

Police are asking any witnesses or those with dashcam footage to come forward and contact Dufferin OPP.
