A 74-year-old pedestrian is in critical condition after being hit by a northbound Dodge SUV while crossing Simcoe Street in Port Perry on Wednesday evening around 7:30 p.m.
He was airlifted to a Toronto trauma centre with life-threatening injuries. The driver, who was not injured, remained at the scene. Durham Police’s Collision Investigation Unit responded, and nearby roads were closed for several hours during the investigation.
