A single-vehicle crash in Toronto early Saturday morning has left one person dead and another injured.
At around 2 a.m., a red Ford Mustang traveling west on Eglinton Avenue West lost control near Bicknell Avenue and struck a concrete pole. Emergency crews arrived to find the vehicle heavily damaged.
A female passenger, whose age has not been confirmed, was pronounced dead at the scene. The 28-year-old male driver sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to hospital.
Toronto police continue to investigate the incident and are appealing for any witnesses or those with dash cam footage from the area to come forward. Eglinton Avenue West was temporarily closed for the investigation but has since reopened.
