A 29-year-old man from Amherstburg is facing impaired driving charges following a rear-end collision in LaSalle. The incident occurred at 8:54 p.m. on Sunday on Matchette Road near Laurier Drive.
LaSalle police responded to the crash and, after speaking with the driver who caused it, suspected alcohol impairment. The man was arrested and taken to the police station, where breath tests confirmed his blood alcohol concentration was more than twice the legal limit.
He has been charged with impaired driving and driving with a blood alcohol level over the legal limit. The suspect was released with a court date. His driver’s licence has been suspended for 90 days, and the vehicle was impounded for seven days under provincial laws.
