A minor collision in Brampton during the early hours of October 26 escalated into criminal charges for a Toronto father and son, according to Peel police. Officers responded to a two-vehicle crash around 2 a.m. near Highway 50 and Cottrelle Boulevard.
As officers attempted to arrest the driver of a BMW after detecting impairment, another man—later identified as his father—ran toward them and allegedly assaulted two officers. One officer was injured during the altercation, and both men were subdued with Tasers.
Police identified the suspects as 20-year-old Joel Musah Langboung and 29-year-old Nathaniel Langboung, both from Toronto. Joel faces several charges, including impaired driving, assaulting an officer, and operating a vehicle without insurance, and was released pending a November court date.
Nathaniel was charged with assaulting an officer and resisting arrest and remains in custody awaiting a bail hearing.
