A two-alarm fire in a downtown Toronto highrise left several people with smoke inhalation but no serious injuries on Sunday morning.
Fire crews responded around 7:40 a.m. to a third-floor blaze at a building near Wellesley and Parliament streets. Heavy black smoke was seen pouring from the structure, and firefighters rescued one occupant from the affected units.
One person was taken to hospital with minor injuries, while others were treated at the scene for smoke exposure. The fire has since been extinguished, and investigators are working to determine its cause and origin.
