Ontario Provincial Police were called to a crash on Highway 417 during Monday morning involving a G2 driver operating a salt truck. The vehicle lost control, overturned, and spilled salt across several lanes.
The novice driver was charged with careless driving, resulting in a $490 fine and three demerit points. Police are reminding new drivers to take extra care when navigating winter road conditions.
