A house in Elmvale sustained major damage after a fire broke out late Tuesday morning. When firefighters arrived, heavy smoke was billowing from the roof.
Queen Street (County Road 92) was closed in both directions between Usher Road and Yonge Street to allow emergency crews and heavy equipment to battle the blaze. Police confirmed that all occupants are safe and no injuries were reported.
Drivers are being advised to steer clear of the area while officials continue their investigation. The damage done by the fire is estimated to be around $800,000, but the exact cause has not yet been determined.
