A single-vehicle crash near Hanover on Tuesday has claimed the lives of three teenagers, with a fourth critically injured. All four were students at John Diefenbaker Senior School, aged 15 to 17.

Two boys and a girl were ejected from the vehicle and died at the scene, while another boy was trapped and had to be freed by emergency responders before being airlifted to London for treatment.

The accident occurred around noon on Concession Road 2 SDR near Allan Park Road, shortly after a Remembrance Day assembly at the school. West Grey Police described the incident as devastating, especially following a similar crash six months earlier in the nearby Walkerton community.

The local community is grieving deeply. Families and friends are coming together for support, while the Bluewater District School Board has deployed a trauma response team to provide counselling and assistance to students, staff, and families. Hanover Mayor Sue Paterson emphasized the community’s solidarity and extended condolences to those affected.
