A Toronto police officer has been charged after allegedly driving recklessly during a January 8 police pursuit that led to two separate crashes, including a collision with another police vehicle.

The incident occurred around 4:33 p.m. in the Danforth and Greenwood avenues area, during a chase of a stolen vehicle. Toronto Police said the officer reportedly exceeded residential speed limits and failed to stop at multiple controlled intersections.

During the pursuit, the officer collided with a responding police scout car and later struck the suspect vehicle as its occupants attempted to flee, causing minor injuries to one person.

On Wednesday, 33-year-old Paolo Deluca was arrested and charged with dangerous operation of a conveyance. He is scheduled to appear in court on December 23, 2025.
