A motorcyclist was taken to hospital following a serious two-vehicle collision on Hespeler Road in Cambridge Friday afternoon.
Waterloo regional police closed the southbound lanes between the Highway 401 overpass and Pinebush Road around 3:15 p.m. to investigate the crash. Police later confirmed that one of the vehicles involved was a motorcycle.
The rider, a 17-year-old Cambridge resident, was transported to a hospital outside the region with serious injuries. The 38-year-old driver of the second vehicle was unharmed.
The affected stretch of Hespeler remained closed through the early evening for the initial investigation but has since reopened.
